Weldon Unveils Innovative LED Interior Dome Lamp
Columbus, Ohio January 4, 2008 Via their Weldon division, Akron Brass has released their new 8048 series 8-inch LED Interior Dome Lamp for multiple vehicle applications.
This recessed interior light uses Weldon’s exclusive, patented V-LED technology which provides excellent brightness, reduced amp draw, thermal efficiency for heat minimization, and long service life.
In terms of other specific features, the 8048 series includes:
- A recessed, rugged stainless steel housing.
- 15 watts vs. 35 watts for a similar size conventional halogen lamp.
- 1.25 amp draw.
- Meets GSA-KKK illumination requirements at cot and floor of an ambulance interior.
- High/low intensity operation available.
In addition to use in an interior ambulance body, this lamp is ideally suited for incident command and walk-in rescue vehicles as well.

Akron Brass Co. Expands Weldon Division Operations
Wooster, Ohio August 17, 2007 Due to continued business growth, Akron Brass has announced the addition of a 28,000 square facility in Columbus, Ohio for their Weldon Division.
Serving primarily as a distribution operation for material storage and shipping, this capacity will allow increased throughput to best service the many Weldon customers in the emergency response and pupil transportation markets.
In addition, Akron Brass announced the addition of Earl Williams as their new Operations Manager for the Weldon Division. Williams was previously employed in operations with a component suppler to the heavy truck industry.

Currently, the wireless application software runs on any Windows CE device with an IrDA communications port (PPC 2003 or later and .NET Compact Framework 2.0 required).

Weldon Introduces New LED Lighting Kits for Retrofitting!
Columbus, Ohio November 7, 2006 Weldon Technologies, Inc. introduced their new LED Lighting Kits at the 32nd Annual National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) Conference and Trade Show in Kansas City today.
These new Lighting Kits are designed specifically for the bus market and make it easy to upgrade an existing school bus with contemporary LED technology. Delivering the latest in high-power LED technology with their patented V-LED design, Weldons 7-inch round school bus warning lamp will provide years of reliable, maintenance-free operation.
With advanced lens design for maximum optical performance and full lens illumination, the 1020-8000 Series LED Warning Lamp exceeds SAE J887 photometric intensity and flash energy requirements. Additionally, the product is DOT (FMVSS 108) compliant.
